Rootstock x Elk: Guide to Bridging Rootstock on Elk Finance

Elk Finance, the cross-chain infrastructure framework, has recently announced its integration with Rootstock. This integration brings Rootstock users the ability to seamlessly move assets between supported blockchains for a small fee.
In this article, we explore how to use Elk Finance to bridge to the Rootstock ecosystem.
Step-by-step guide to bridging Rootstock on Elk
Step 1: Go to app.elk.finance and connect your wallet (Metamask, etc).
Step 2: Select your origin chain in the dApp. You’ll be prompted to change the network by your wallet.
Note: Depending on your wallet, it may prompt you to add a new network and add it automatically. If not, you can search for the chain at chainlist.org and add it with one click
Step 3: Swap your tokens to ELK using the “Swap” tab. The ELK can move cross-chain.
Click on “ElkNet” (app.elk.finance/#/elknet) and input the amount of ELK you would like to send.
Select the destination chain from the drop-down menu, and choose whether or not you’d like to convert ELK to gas at your destination.
Note: Make sure to choose the “Swap $ELK for gas” function if transferring to a new chain where you don’t have the native gas token in your wallet. No need to be stranded on a new chain without gas ever again!
Step 4: Approve ELK, and transfer.
Note: you can watch the progress of your transfer in the ElkNet transaction history. Transfers advance from “Initiating” to “Processing” to “Complete.” When the transfer is complete, you will see your ELK on the new chain.
You’re done!
